Our technology services are a complement to our management consulting services by
providing follow-through on technology recommendations.
We provide rapid prototyping, application hardening and deployment; and specialize in enterprise wide applications for the Windows client and internet/intranet environment. |
Garvey Consulting's Process Roadmap is an example of using technology enablers
in innovative business system designs and in delivering the
technology component.

Design Approach |
The key to a successful
technology development project is for the developer to think like
the end user. Extensive JAD sessions and precisely documented
designs rarely accomplish this. How often has an end user said after
experiencing his newly delivered application "I know that's
what I said, but its not what I meant/need."?
When the technology development team has played an integral role in the overall business system design, they bring this perspective. Lacking this participation, the chief developer must intimately understand the business problem being solved: the process approach and goals, the organizational implications and realistic measurement needs. Our extensive experience in working with companies to solve business problems allows us to thoroughly understand all elements at play in a business system and how a technology component must fit in that system. |

Development Environment |
While we have experience in
developing mainframe transactional systems (CICS), relational
databases and client-server systems, our current focus is desktop
and/or internet development.
We use Microsoft's Visual Studio toolkit (Visual Basic, Visual InterDev) for application coding and scripting and Adobe's graphical tools (Photoshop, Illustrator) for supporting graphical work. This concise set of tools allows rapid development and great breadth of application capabilities. |
